    Job Summary: The IMPACT ETX Program Specialist will primarily be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of TEA''s Pre-Service Alternative Certification Program (P-ALT) and providing other necessary supports to the IMPACT ETX program as needed.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Training:

    Bachelor Degree or required license Prefer Master Degree in a related field

    Required Experience:

    At least 3 years of related experience

    Campus/District/Region leadership experience

    Preferred Experience:

    The ESC Specialist should have a background or experience with:

    • Campus/District/Region administrative experience;
    • Coordination of school/district programs;
    • Working with pre- and early-service teachers;
    • Texas Instructional Leadership (TIL);
    • High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM), Research-Based Instructional Strategies, and/or Strong Foundations;
    • Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs).

    Knowledge/Skills:

    Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and adjust based on external feedback and self-learning.

    Ability to research large amounts of data from a variety of sources and effectively filter data for program decision-making.

    Vision-driven; consistently looks for opportunities for program improvement and growth.

    Analytical with the ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.

    Seek to serve districts and EPPs to ensure the success of teachers and students.

    Any ESC-specific qualifications for the role in addition to those listed above.

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    1. Provide support and coaching for all IMPACT ETX program teacher candidates/interns.

    2. Monitoring teacher candidates' progress through the course of the program.

    3. Lead in the development of Region 7's P-ALT programming.

    4. Participate in TEA orientation and all P-ALT trainings and any other trainings required.

    5. TEA (travel to trainings may be required).

    6. Collaborate with all IMPACT ETX program staff to support all components of IMPACT ETX.

    7. Work collaboratively with ESC staff in serving the customers of Region7 ESC.

    8. Attend and participate in all ESC-required training.

    9. Demonstrate professional behavior in all interactions with ESC staff and customers.

    10. Adhere to ESC policies and procedures in the Region 7 ESC quality management system.

    11. Work and collaborate with others as needed to ensure the implementation and success of state and local initiatives.

    12. Regular and reliable attendance.

    13. Other duties as assigned.

    Funding

    All Region 7 employees are at-will employees. Because your assignment is funded by grants, federal funding, and/or special funding, your continued employment is expressly conditioned on the availability of funding for the position. If funding becomes unavailable due to loss of state/federal funding or due to financial constraints of Region 7 ESC, your position is subject to immediate termination.
