Open Arms & Franciscan Care Solutions (FCS) is seeking a compassionate, dependable caregiver to provide one-on-one care for a senior couple in our senior community in Wheeling, IL. This long-term opportunity is ideal for caregivers who are passionate about helping seniors remain safe, comfortable, and independent while building meaningful relationships.
Schedule
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Overnight Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 12-hour shifts
- Long-term assignment
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, one-on-one care for a senior couple.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Safely assist with one-person transfers using a gait belt.
- Support mobility and implement fall prevention techniques.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean and comfortable living environment.
- Observe and report changes in the clients' condition.
- Follow individualized care plans while promoting each client's dignity and independence.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of professional caregiving experience preferred.
- Experience assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Comfortable performing one-person transfers using a gait belt.
- Experience with mobility assistance and fall prevention.
- Dementia or memory care experience is a plus.
- Ability to prepare meals and perform light housekeeping.
- Compassionate, dependable, patient, and professional.
- Must be able to reliably commute to Wheeling, IL for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to maintain a consistent and dependable work schedule.
- Reliable transportation preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
