    We're seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to support students in grades 4 and 5 at an Illinois school district during the 2026–2027 academic year. This full-time position is suited for an educator who can provide targeted instruction, adapt curriculum to individual learning needs, and work effectively with students, families, and school-based professionals.

    Position Overview

    The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and implement educational programming based on each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). The teacher will assess student performance, track progress toward established goals, and adjust instructional approaches to address academic and developmental needs.

    The role requires ongoing collaboration with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families. The successful candidate will contribute to a well-organized classroom environment that supports student participation, skill development, and academic progress.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide specially designed instruction to 4th and 5th grade students
    • Develop and implement instructional plans aligned with student IEPs
    • Differentiate lessons and materials based on individual learning profiles
    • Monitor academic progress and maintain accurate educational records
    • Coordinate with general education teachers and related service professionals
    • Participate in IEP meetings and communicate student progress with families and staff

    Requirements

    1. Previous school-based special education experience is preferred.
    2. Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field.
    3. Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement.
