The CDHD is supported through a federal infrastructure grant with numerous projects funded through sponsored accounts. The CDHD improves the lives of people with disabilities and their families by educating an interdisciplinary workforce providing training and technical assistance within communities conducting research providing direct services and disseminating evidence-based information.
Position Overview IdahoSTARS is a statewide program funded by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare-Block Grant. It is designed to assist parents by offering child care referrals and information about quality child care settings as well as to assist child care providers with a variety of professional development opportunities and resources. The IdahoSTARS Child Care Health Consultant position promotes healthy and safe child care by assisting with program policy development and implementation of quality health safety and nutrition practices in early care and education settings. This position provides coaching training and resources to child care directors and providers families and regional and statewide partners.

Position Qualifications Required Experience Working on an interdisciplinary team Developing and implementing health and safety policies Conducting adult workshops and/or providing training small and large groups Working in child and community health
Required Education Bachelors Degree Required Other Ability to travel Ability to work non-standard business hours
Additional Preferred Bachelors Degree in a health care field such as nutrition dietetics oral health physical therapy occupational therapy speech-language therapy pediatric nursing community health nursing health educators pediatric play therapy child life specialist environmental health OR Bachelors Degree in any field and at least two years of experience in a health related setting such as an emergency responder early childhood mental health endorsee or any other health related certification with two years of experience.
