    Description

    The Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, compassionate, and efficient nursing care to critically ill and medically complex patients requiring intensive monitoring and intervention. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on individualized needs within a high-acuity clinical environment. This role collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure timely, safe, and effective delivery of critical care consistent with hospital standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

    Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing

    Current Wyoming RN license

    BLS and ACLS within 90 days of hire

    PALS recommended within 12 months of hire

    Critical care experience preferred

    • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and unstable patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.
    • Perform ongoing assessments, monitor patient status closely, and recognize changes in condition requiring immediate intervention.
    • Administer prescribed medications, intravenous therapies, blood products, and treatments while monitoring patient response and documenting care accurately.
    • Operate and monitor specialized equipment including cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, and other critical care devices as appropriate.
    • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure coordinated, high quality patient care.
    • Recognize and respond rapidly to life threatening situations, performing CPR and initiating emergency protocols as necessary.
    • Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
    • Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and Joint Commission requirements
    • Educate patients and families regarding conditions, treatments, and plan of care, promoting understanding and continuity of care.
    • Participate in departmental quality improvement activities, staff meetings, and ongoing education.
    • Support the orientation and mentoring of new staff and students as assigned.
    • Behave and dress in a professional and courteous manner consistent with the facilities Standards of Behavior.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
