Title: ICT Senior Consultant
Location: Chicago, IL
Work Mode: Hybrid (Monday–Thursday in office for 9 hours; Friday remotely for 4 hours)
Duration: Full Time
 
Position Summary
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Group is seeking a Senior Technology Systems Consultant with systems design experience focused on one or more of the following areas: Telecom, IT, Audio Visual, or Security.
This role will support the engineering and design of technology systems for a variety of projects while working closely with clients, client representatives, architects, and MEP engineers. Projects include Critical Facilities, Corporate Interiors, Sports & Entertainment, Healthcare Facilities, Airports, and Educational Facilities. Aviation ICT experience is preferred.
 
Job Responsibilities
  • Support design efforts on a wide range of projects.
  • Work closely with senior and supervising consultants to perform calculations and lay out highly technical spaces.
  • Progress from basic design assignments to more complicated and involved projects while working with a technical team.
  • Provide trade-specific system design layouts utilizing CAD/BIM.
  • Perform calculations using appropriate software.
  • Provide related design services and coordinate designs with other architectural and engineering trades, both internal and external, under the guidance of senior technical staff.
 
Additional Responsibilities
  • Create basic designs with little supervision from senior staff and create medium to complex designs under the direction of senior team members.
  • Develop specifications, system narratives, and system layouts for a variety of projects and project sizes.
  • Conduct field inspections to determine existing conditions and coordinate new work.
  • Assist senior engineers with preparation of due diligence, feasibility studies, gap analysis, and other technical reports and drawings.
  • Begin establishing system application, design, and operational parameters and sequences under the direction of senior team members.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of network connectivity and LAN/WAN fundamentals.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of Wi-Fi infrastructure, WAPs, and controllers.
  • Participate in, ensure, and oversee QA/QC processes for assigned work and the work of others.
  • Assist senior team members with ongoing determination of project scheduling requirements, client requirements, and project budgets.
  • Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects, including field inspections and detailed inspection reports.
  • Assist senior team members in processing RFIs, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda.
  • Master drawing organization formats and company standards.
  • Cross-train on multidisciplinary designs and support the production of drawings, calculations, research, reports, and analysis and specifications.
  • Represent the organization and work closely with internal design teams and external clients and consultants, including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, and vendors.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and work closely with the entire design team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
 
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Science, or a Technical discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 8+ years of audiovisual, telecom, IT, or security design experience.
  • Experience across a variety of markets, including:
    • Critical Facilities
    • Data Centers
    • Call Centers
    • Trading Floors
    • Healthcare
    • Aviation
    • Sports & Entertainment
    • Corporate Interiors
    • Educational Facilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of active network systems and structured cabling design.
  • General working knowledge of Wi-Fi networks and telephony design concepts, including generating heat maps.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred.
  • Certification such as P.E., PSP, CPP, CTS, CTS-D, RCDD, CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, PMP, or other relevant ICT certification required.
