Position Summary: The Instrumentation-Electrical (I&E) Technician diagnoses instrument and electrical systems problems. I&E Technician services, troubleshoots, repairs and/or replaces, aligns, and maintains instrument and electrical instrument systems, system components, motor control circuits, power supplies, and PLCs.Duties and Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting of critical equipment upon failureTroubleshoot AC and DC ElectronicsUse Electronic Test Equipment (VOM, O-Scope, Megger, Calibrators, etc.)Apply Electrical Codes and StandardsRead/Interpret Electrical, Electronic, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Instrumentation Drawings, Schematics, and Technical ManualsInstall, Troubleshoot, Maintain and Repair PLC and/or DCS Hardware, Software and ControlsDiagnose and repair AC & DC Motors and Control CircuitsMaintain 480/240 Volt 3 phase MCC and Power Distribution SystemsReplace Electrical Control Devices (Limit, Proximity and Photo Switches, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Valves, etc.)Repair Instrumentation and Control Devices (Pressure, Flow, Level Temperature, etc.)Standard electrical installations including bend conduit and pull wirePerform Preventive and Predictive maintenanceMove and set up equipment as neededWire equipment and electrical drops within a high voltage areaInstall and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic industrial equipmentOperate aerial work platformsEmployees shall work in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner consistent with Company policies, procedures, and established work practices
Basic Qualifications:
Associate's degree in industrial electrical/electronic technology, industrial maintenance or similar certificationFive years industrial experience Instrumentation-Electrical Maintenance experienceAbility to read/interpret electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation drawings and schematicsDemonstrated knowledge of PLCs and CNCsDemonstrated knowledge of 480 Volt MCC and Power Distribution SystemsBasic programming knowledge with the ability to understand code and troubleshooting desiredExperience with hydraulics and pneumatics desiredMechanical background to include troubleshooting skills desiredAbility to read, write, speak and comprehend the English requiredCommunicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a diverse set of cross functional groupsProven organizational skills and ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasksProficient computer skills are required to effectively use requisite software applicationsAble to operate various types of equipment including hand, power, diagnostic, and machine tools
Physical Demands:
Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs. individually and up to 100 lbs. with assistanceRequires frequent reaching, twisting, walking, stretching, bending, kneeling, climbing and stooping movementsMust be able to work in non-climate-controlled environment and around heated equipmentAbility to wear and work-in required personal protective equipmentParticipation in the Plant Emergency Response Team is a condition of employment
The hourly rate for this position is $35.00 to $45.00.
