Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, install, and maintain equipment required to monitor and control engineering systems in nuclear facilities.
  • Apply engineering principles and data analytics to monitor and evaluate the condition and operational performance of I&C systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Define requirements and develop design concepts by communicating with the customer to understand requirements and identify design goals.
  • Create engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and implementation documents to meet customer inputs.
  • Complete and document calculations and evaluations to meet design requirements, either independently or through oversight of others.
  • Support procurement activities, review, and approve work packages, and oversee construction activities for design implementation.
  • Participate in design reviews to verify and validate design and implementation.
  • Develop and execute qualification and startup testing procedures for assigned systems and projects.
  • Maintain the system through proper maintenance and modifications to ensure continuous operational readiness.
  • Verify and maintain the technical content of System Configuration information for accuracy and adequacy, ensuring consistency between design requirements, physical configuration, and documentation.

Requirements

  • BS in I&C Engineering or related engineering field with a minimum of 5 years of experience; or MS in I&C Engineering with at least 3 years of experience. Degree must be from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Ability to design, analyze, and evaluate systems.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with operations, engineering, safety, maintenance, and program personnel both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to identify and execute engineering tasks such as design efforts, maintenance activities, and operating instructions.
  • Effective planning, organization, and leadership skills for engineering work.
