Information & Assistance Specialist Region VII Area Agency on Aging is accepting applications for a highly motivated Information & Assistance Specialist. The Company: Region VII Area Agency on Aging is a non-profit organization that helps seniors, adults with disabilities have greater independence in their homes and communities, and is known for the great care we provide to clients. To provide effective and innovative care to improve the well-being of community residents. Responsible for helping the administration of the multi-thousand dollar Title V Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP). He/she has the independent authority to seek out, develop and implement funding opportunities and partnerships for older worker employment and training and advocates on the behalf of seniors (trainees). Purpose of the position The Information and Assistance (I&A) Specialist advocates for and provides information and assistance to the public/elderly population and their families in making informed choices of their service needs and links them to federal, state and local community agencies and programs in fulfillment of those needs. I&A Specialist is co-responsible for the administration and coordination of public information regarding internal/external communication activities; agency brochures and printed informational materials; networking with fellow professionals within the region and state to keep abreast of program offerings and outreach materials; and is responsible for the I&A data collection application. They are required to be a SHIP volunteer. They will be responsible for conducting Friendly Reassurance Calls to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of seniors in the community.
