Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable Hydrostatic Technician to join a growing fabrication team in Catoosa. This position is responsible for preparing, assembling, and pressure testing ASME code and non-code vessels and piping systems to verify structural integrity and compliance with customer and industry requirements.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and workplace safety.
Required Experience & Skills
• High school diploma or GED required
• 1+ years of relevant industrial or manufacturing experience preferred
• Knowledge of steel properties and fabrication processes
• Basic understanding of quality control procedures and pressure vessel testing
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to distinguish part numbers, material sizes, and specifications accurately
• Experience using common hand tools and shop equipment
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Prepare and secure ASME code and non-code vessels and piping systems for hydrostatic testing
• Bolt flanges, install plugs, and properly assemble test components
• Fill vessels and piping systems with water and pressurize to specified test pressures
• Verify proper setup of all testing systems before testing begins
• Produce and verify accurate hydrostatic test charts, documentation, and inspection records
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards
• Coordinate with external inspectors during testing and certification activities
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety procedures, quality policies, and regulatory requirements
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience with ASME pressure vessels, piping systems, or hydrostatic testing
• Experience working in fabrication or heavy industrial manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with pressure testing procedures and quality documentation
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot testing equipment
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive physical activity throughout the shift
• Ability to safely operate hand tools and testing equipment while wearing required PPE
• Comfortable working around heavy steel, pressure vessels, fabrication equipment, and industrial machinery

• Heavy industrial fabrication and manufacturing facility
