HireCall is seeking an experienced Hydro Testing Technician to perform hydrostatic pressure testing on heat exchanger bundles and related assemblies. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and workplace safety.
- Perform hydrostatic pressure testing on heat exchanger bundle assemblies according to company procedures, ASME standards, and customer specifications.
- Set up and operate hydro testing equipment, including pumps, gauges, valves, fittings, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, test procedures, and pressure specifications.
- Visually inspect components and use measuring devices to identify leaks, deformation, or other defects following testing.
- Maintain accurate testing records, logs, and reports for quality documentation and traceability.
- Communicate testing results with Quality Control and Engineering teams.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of hydro testing equipment.
- Follow all required safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE, and pressure safety practices.
- Assist with the assembly and preparation of heat exchanger bundles for testing.
- Identify and report non-conforming parts or assemblies.
- Work closely with production team members to maintain quality standards and meet production schedules.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of industrial manufacturing or pressure-testing experience preferred.
- Familiarity with hydrostatic testing procedures and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, engineering drawings, and blueprints.
- Basic understanding of pressure ratings, fluid dynamics, and testing principles.
- Proficiency with hand tools and mechanical equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
- Ability to work safely around pressurized equipment.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Knowledge or certification related to ASME Section VIII / Pressure Vessels is a plus.
