Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable Hydro Helper for a manufacturing opportunity in Claremore. This position works alongside Hydro Technicians and Leads to support the hydrostatic pressure testing of tanks, pipes, vessels, and other industrial equipment.
The Hydro Helper will prepare testing equipment, connect hoses and fittings, fill systems with water, monitor pressure gauges, check for leaks, and assist with draining and cleanup after testing.
The ideal candidate has previous industrial, construction, mechanical, or general labor experience, is comfortable using basic hand tools, and is willing to learn hydrostatic testing procedures in a physically active industrial environment.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous industrial, construction, mechanical, or general labor experience preferred
Ability to safely use basic hand tools
Strong mechanical aptitude preferred
Comfortable working around water, hoses, pumps, and industrial equipment
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Strong attention to workplace safety
Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the shift
Willingness to learn hydrostatic testing procedures
Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Strong work ethic and willingness to assist wherever needed
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist Hydro Technicians with hydrostatic pressure testing
Support testing of tanks, pipes, vessels, and other equipment
Prepare testing areas before beginning work
Gather hoses, pumps, fittings, gauges, and other required equipment
Connect and disconnect testing hoses
Install applicable valves, gauges, and fittings
Fill systems with water before testing
Assist with removing trapped air from systems
Monitor pressure gauges during testing
Observe equipment throughout the pressure-testing process
Inspect components for visible leaks or other concerns
Communicate potential leaks or testing issues to the Hydro Technician
Assist with draining equipment after testing
Clean and prepare tested equipment for the next production stage
Use hand and power tools as required
Move materials and testing equipment safely
Maintain clean and organized work areas
Follow all company safety and PPE requirements
Assist with general labor duties when needed
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
Hydrostatic Testing Support
Candidates may assist with testing:
Tanks
Pipes
Vessels
Fabricated assemblies
Other applicable industrial equipment
Hydrostatic testing uses water and controlled pressure to help identify leaks or other concerns before equipment moves forward in the production process.
Testing Setup
Before testing begins, the Hydro Helper may:
Prepare the testing area
Gather required equipment
Position hoses and pumps
Install fittings
Connect valves and gauges
Verify connections with the Hydro Technician
Fill the system with water
Assist with removing air before pressure is applied
Attention to proper setup and supervisor instructions is essential.
Pressure Testing Responsibilities
During testing, candidates may:
Monitor pressure gauges
Observe hoses, fittings, and connections
Watch for visible leaks
Monitor the equipment being tested
Communicate abnormalities immediately
Follow Hydro Technician instructions
Maintain a safe distance and follow all high-pressure testing procedures
Post-Test Responsibilities
After testing is complete:
Assist with safely relieving the system as directed
Disconnect hoses and fittings
Drain water from tested equipment
Clean testing equipment
Prepare components for the next production stage
Return tools and equipment to designated locations
Clean and organize the testing area

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
Ability to move hoses, tools, equipment, and materials as required
Manual dexterity required for fittings, valves, and hand tools
Comfortable performing physically demanding industrial work
Comfortable working around water and wet work areas
Ability to safely work around pumps, pressure-testing equipment, and industrial machinery
Ability to wear all required PPE
Safety Requirements
Hydrostatic testing involves pressurized equipment, making strict adherence to safety procedures essential.
Candidates must:
Follow Hydro Technician and supervisor instructions
Follow all established pressure-testing procedures
Wear required PPE
Maintain awareness around pressurized systems
Never disconnect or adjust equipment unless authorized
Report leaks, damaged equipment, or unsafe conditions immediately
Maintain clean work areas to reduce slip and trip hazards
Work Environment
Industrial manufacturing and fabrication environment
Regular work around tanks, pipes, vessels, hoses, pumps, water, and pressure-testing equipment
Hands-on position involving testing setup, monitoring, material handling, draining, and cleanup
Consistent 5:00 AM 3:30 PM first-shift schedule
