someone who can identify why a failure occurred and ensure repairs are completed
correctly the first time.

misalignment, etc.)
• Measure and inspect rods, barrels, pistons, glands, seals, bushings, and related
components
• Determine repair scope and communicate requirements (machining, welding,
honing, seal replacement, etc.)
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and repair documentation
• Install seals, wear bands, wipers, and related components
• Assist with pressure testing, leak checks, and final inspections
• Document findings, measurements, and repair recommendations clearly
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Collaborate with machinists, welders, QC, and operations teams
Required Qualifications
• Hands-on experience repairing hydraulic cylinders in an industrial or heavy
equipment setting
• Strong understanding of cylinder components, seal types, and common failure
modes
• Ability to safely disassemble and reassemble large hydraulic components
• Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges,
etc.)
• Ability to identify wear, damage, and improper fit
• Strong mechanical aptitude and safety awareness
• Ability to document and communicate repair findings effectively
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in steel mill, heavy manufacturing, or mobile equipment environments
• Experience with large-bore hydraulic cylinders
• Broader hydraulic troubleshooting (valves, pumps, hoses, power units)

Ideal Candidate
• Detail-oriented and takes pride in quality repair work
• Strong problem-solver who understands root cause analysis
• Works independently while collaborating effectively
• Committed to safety, accuracy, and efficiency
