A day in the shop
Reporting to the Shop Service Manager, you’ll be the hands-on expert customers count on. Your day may start with a preventive maintenance service and Annual DOT inspection on a truck-mounted forklift, shift to diagnosing an electrical fault on an articulating crane, and wrap with documenting parts and labor for a completed warranty repair. When an urgent request comes in, you’re ready to troubleshoot and repair during standard or after-hours to get critical equipment safely back to work.
What you’ll take on
- Repair and troubleshoot articulating cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, bucket trucks, platforms, conveyors, trucks, and trailers.
- Perform preventive maintenance aligned to customer schedules, complete Annual DOT inspections, and execute warranty service.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled diagnostics and repairs during working and non-working hours.
- Clearly communicate mechanical issues and recommended repairs to the Shop Service Manager.
- Create thorough service documentation—estimates, work order authorizations, parts ordering/recording, labor capture, and inventory updates—on time.
- Follow all state and federal safety regulations; keep work areas safe, clean, and organized.
What you bring
- High School diploma or GED; approximately 3 years of mechanical experience or training, ideally with articulating cranes and forklifts.
- Depth in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems; strong troubleshooting/diagnostics and welding capability.
- Basic computer literacy, including Windows applications; self-starter who works independently and resourcefully.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 75+ lbs for extended periods.
- Comfort working in inside/outside conditions around noise, vibration, oils, and typical shop hazards.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Bring your own hand tools; PALFINGER provides proprietary tools.

- Hourly pay: $32–$40 DOE.
