HVAC Trainer

Location: Jasper, Alabama (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technical Trainer to support the development of current and future HVAC professionals. This role is responsible for developing and delivering training programs focused on HVAC installation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, safety, and service excellence. The ideal candidate brings extensive field experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for mentoring others while promoting industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop technical training materials, including instructor guides, participant guides, handouts, and job aids.
• Deliver classroom and hands-on HVAC training programs focused on installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and service procedures.
• Coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate performance-based training activities.
• Train and assist students and technicians in HVAC system analysis, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation.
• Promote a culture of safety by modeling safe work practices and reinforcing compliance with safety requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with team members while managing multiple projects and priorities.

Required Qualifications

• State of Alabama Contractors Certification (Active or Inactive).
• Extensive hands-on experience in HVAC installation, service, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience delivering technical instruction, mentoring, or conducting workforce training.
• Ability to develop instructional content and training materials.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Preferred Technical Expertise

Experience with the following is desired:

• Air distribution, refrigeration, and electrical theory.
• Total HVAC system application, installation, performance analysis, and service.
• Interpreting electrical schematic diagrams, wiring applications, and electrical codes.
• Principles of heat transfer and thermal building construction.
• Electrical circuitry and solid-state devices.
• Psychrometrics and enthalpy functions.
• Refrigerant piping and evacuation procedures.
• Residential load calculations and duct design.
• Duct board fabrication and installation skills.
• Computer-based technical tools and graphics applications.
• Customer relations and service excellence.
