Penmac Staffing is hiring an experienced HVAC Technician for a local facility in Springfield, MO. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity for a skilled HVAC professional with experience maintaining commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, boiler, and chiller systems. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent preventive maintenance skills, and a commitment to safety and customer service.Requirements
- Specialized HVAC training and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- EPA Certification required
- Experience servicing commercial HVAC, refrigeration, boiler, and chiller systems
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and parts catalogs
- Experience troubleshooting motors, pumps, fans, controls, and other mechanical equipment
- Ability to use voltmeters and multimeters to diagnose electrical and mechanical issues
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and respond to service calls as needed
- Valid driver's license preferred
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC, refrigeration, boiler, and chiller systems
- Drive a utility vehicle between buildings to perform routine inspections and maintenance
- Monitor campus mechanical rooms and maintain detailed equipment logs
- Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner
- Perform and document preventive maintenance on HVAC and related equipment
- Service pneumatic and digital control systems through calibration, adjustment, and replacement
- Monitor temperature and humidity levels through computerized building management systems
- Clean and maintain air handlers, fan coil units, filters, and coils
- Diagnose and repair HVAC equipment, including compressors, thermostats, expansion valves, fan switches, and belts
- Braze and solder copper piping and repair or replace various piping systems
- Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, fans, and other mechanical equipment
- Wire replacement equipment and follow electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Clean, inspect, and maintain boiler systems
- Order parts and materials as needed to support maintenance activities
- Create reports related to HVAC operations and maintenance activities
- Follow all safety procedures and perform additional duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Comfortable working around moving mechanical equipment, dust, fumes, and airborne particles
- Ability to work at heights and around electrical systems when necessary
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
- Comfortable working in a loud industrial environment
Schedule and Pay
- Full-time
- Monday - Friday
- 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Pay: $20.00 per hour
