    HVAC Technician I

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct routine and moderately complex HVAC maintenance.
    • Perform troubleshooting and corrective actions on mechanical systems.
    • Assist in commissioning and balancing HVAC systems.
    • Support PM schedules, documentation, and code compliance.
    • Installs basic heating and air conditioning equipment and systems.
    • Responds to service calls with appropriate efficiency and accuracy.
    • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to facility emergencies as required.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    Job Requirements:

    • Good working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems.
    • Ability to interpret schematics, mechanical plans, and control diagrams.
    • Moderate troubleshooting skills.
    • Effective communication.

     

    Typical Qualifications

    • Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent climbing and balancing, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.
    • Must have good mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to work alone.
    • Must be able to work in crawl spaces and attics.
    • Technical degree or trade school completion.
    • HVAC certification(s) (e.g., EPA 608 minimum recommended).
    • Ice machine training.
    • Proficient with freon installation and removal. Brazing copper pipe. (strongly preferred).
    • 2-5 years of relevant HVAC/mechanical experience.
    • Driver’s License & Evidence of Insurability.
