SummaryEvaluates and maintains heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems at City facilities using a safe, documented, and responsive approach. Performs on-call services (24/7) on a rotating basis with other Facility Maintenance Staff. Rate of pay is contingent upon current license, certifications, and work experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Installs new HVAC systems (including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment)Performs routine and preventative maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including cleaning, inspecting, and replacing filters, coils, and other componentsTroubleshoots, diagnoses, procures parts, and repairs malfunctioning HVAC and refrigeration equipmentConducts thorough inspections of HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure they meet safety and environmental standardsDocuments work performed in the work order management system to include time, service performed, parts used, repairs or installations made, and any observation of future repairs neededMaintains an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and parts, ensures tools are clean and in good working conditionMaintains a clean work area, storage areas, and assigned vehicleCoordinates scheduling with outside contractors and works with other employees to meet City needAssist with non-HVAC/refrigeration work orders on an as-needed basisFollows local and national codes, safety regulations, and industry standards for HVAC and refrigeration equipment installation and maintenanceFollows city policies, procedures, and safety guidelinesPerforms other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Five (5) years of experience in maintaining HVAC and refrigeration equipment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Chillers and Boilers
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
TDLR Certified/Contractor LicenseEPA 608 Universal Certification for handling refrigerantsValid Driver's LicenseIce machine certification (preferred)
