Summary
We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated HVAC Technician to support the operation and maintenance of HVAC and facility mechanical systems within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining production uptime by ensuring HVAC, compressed air, ventilation, and related building systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
The ideal candidate possesses strong troubleshooting abilities, hands-on mechanical and electrical experience, and a proactive approach to preventive and predictive maintenance. This position requires the ability to respond quickly to equipment issues, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing facility.
Description
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize HVAC and facility mechanical systems to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations;
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment, including air handlers, RTUs, chillers, pumps, motors, VFDs, ventilation systems, and associated controls;
- Respond rapidly to equipment failures and production-related issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency;
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, energy efficiency, and equipment life cycle;
- Conduct daily inspections of HVAC and supporting facility equipment;
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system failures and implement effective corrective actions;
- Support manufacturing operations by maintaining appropriate temperature, humidity, ventilation, and air quality conditions;
- Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to document maintenance activities, work orders, inspections, and repairs;
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to prioritize work and support production schedules;
- Participate in root cause analysis investigations and continuous improvement initiatives;
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, environmental requirements, and regulatory standards;
- Identify unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions to management;
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning projects;
- Participate in emergency response and on-call support as required.
Requirements
- Authorized to work in the US;
- Qualified to pass a security screening and medical examination;
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Journeyman HVAC/R License or equivalent trade certification preferred;
- Minimum 5 years of HVAC maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment;
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience;
- Valid Driver''s License;
- EPA Refrigeration Certification (where required);
- Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and/or Building Management Systems (BMS);
- Experience using CMMS software for maintenance planning and documentation;
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams;
- Strong understanding of industrial HVAC systems, ventilation systems, motors, pumps, and controls;
- Experience with manufacturing equipment support, compressed air systems, or industrial utilities is considered an asset;
- Ability to work overtime, rotating shifts, and respond to emergency situations when required.
