    Description

An established home services franchise company headquartered in Madison is launching a residential and light commercial HVAC franchise brand. They want a seasoned HVAC leader to be the brand's technical authority and to build the standards, training and playbook that franchise owners will run their businesses on.

This is a technical leadership and education role, with the first year focused heavily on building the HVAC playbook, documentation and training resources. You will shape service, installation, maintenance and quality standards while helping franchise owners put them into practice. Former owners and senior technical leaders are both encouraged to apply.

    What you'll do

    • Be the senior HVAC expert for the brand across service, installation, maintenance and diagnostics
    • Write the playbook: SOPs, field standards, checklists, quality control and safety practices
    • Build training for franchise owners, managers, techs, installers, comfort advisors and dispatchers
    • Teach owners how field decisions show up in margin, average ticket, callbacks and maintenance memberships
    • Evaluate equipment, tools, software and supplier programs
    • Visit franchisees, lead training events and keep standards current as the system grows

    What you bring

    • 10+ years in HVAC with real exposure to both residential and commercial work
    • Experience owning an HVAC company, or running one with P&L and people responsibility (strongly preferred)
    • You like teaching, and you can explain hard concepts without talking down to anyone
    • You turn tribal knowledge into processes, checklists and training
    • You understand the business side: pricing, dispatch, memberships, labor efficiency
    • Willing to travel to franchise locations
    • Franchise experience is a plus, not required

    Location

Madison, Wisconsin is the preferred base, with travel for franchisee support and training. Candidates elsewhere in Wisconsin are welcome to express interest; the working arrangement will be discussed during the hiring process.

    Compensation

Full time. Compensation will depend on experience and scope. A potential equity opportunity vesting over time may be considered for the right person; salary and equity terms will be discussed and agreed during the hiring process. Target start is within the next 1 to 3 months.

Former owners who sold their shop and want to build something again are encouraged to apply. All inquiries are confidential.
