    What You’ll Do

    • Own assigned installation projects: verify scope, confirm equipment and materials, and complete work within the planned labor budget.
    • Lead and coach a helper or junior installer to keep schedules on track and standards high.
    • Handle end-to-end system replacements and new installs—from teardown through commissioning—without hand-holding.
    • Spot issues early, communicate with management about required adjustments, and identify when a change order is needed.
    • Protect customer property, keep the jobsite organized, and finish all documentation accurately and on time.

    Your Technical Arena

    • Equipment: Gas furnaces, central air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, boilers, mini-splits/ductless systems, condensers, evaporator coils (experience with York equipment is a plus).
    • Piping & Venting: Brazing, evacuating, and charging refrigerant lines; gas piping; PVC venting; condensate management.
    • Electrical & Controls: Thermostats, low/line-voltage control wiring, and essential electrical connections.
    • Sheet Metal/Duct: Build transitions and fittings; perform duct modifications as required by the install.
    • Commissioning: Start-up, airflow checks, functional testing—aimed at eliminating callbacks.

    Must-Haves

    • Proven residential HVAC installation background.
    • Valid driver’s license and clean/acceptable driving record.
    • Strong tool proficiency (HVAC tools, hand tools, and power tools).
    • Ability to read and apply install instructions, diagrams, and specs.
    • Capacity to lift at least 50 lbs., work on ladders, and operate in tight areas (attics, basements, crawlspaces, mechanical spaces).
    • Consistent attendance, reliability, and professional appearance.

    Nice-to-Haves (High Priority)

    • EPA Certification strongly preferred and required for Lead Installer consideration.
    • Experience in light-commercial installations.
    • History of leading a crew and developing apprentices.
    • Specialized expertise with boiler replacements and multi-zone mini-split systems.
