The HVAC Supervisor leads and participates in advanced or expert levels of operation, maintenance, repair, diagnosis, trouble-shooting, construction, fabrication, and preventive maintenance involving commercial-level heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) work.

Licenses and Certificates: Must possess a current EPA Section 608 Universal Certification at time of hire or must be able to obtain the EPA Section 605 Universal Certification within the probationary period of employment (12 months). Valid driver license is required at time of application. Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant's suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services' review and approval of the candidate's driving record. Some positions require a valid Arizona Class D driver license at the time of application or appointment. Some positions require a valid Arizona commercial driver license (CDL) with appropriate endorsement(s) at the time of appointment, or prior to completion of an initial/promotional probation period. Positions requiring a CDL are also subject to applicable State of Arizona and federal standards, rules, and regulations on physical requirements including drug and alcohol testing. Failure to maintain the required licensure shall be grounds for termination.
Special Notice Items: The ability to obtain a jail pass is required. The County requires pre-employment background checks. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history, education, and criminal conviction history. A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment with the County. Some positions may require satisfactory completion of a personal background investigation by the court or law enforcement agencies, due to the need for access to County Attorney and Court facilities, records, and communication systems. Physical/Sensory Requirements: Post-job offer physical required. Some positions require the ability to: lift and carry up to seventy-five pounds; safely operate assigned vehicles and other powered equipment; safely wear required safety clothing/equipment; ascend and descend ladders and stairs to reach and work upon elevated or below grade work platforms and job sites; differentiate between colors. Other physical and sensory requirements will be determined by position. Action Activity - bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, squatting, stooping; Motion Activity - grasping; Hearing Activity - in a noisy areas, on a radio, behind themselves, equipment alarms; Speaking Activity - in person, on the phone, on the radio; Vision - operate a motor vehicle, may be required to get a CDL, operate a forklift/power industrial equipment, distinguish colors, have depth perception and peripheral vision. Frequently required to lift, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Position requires on-call hours. Works in extremes of heat, humidity, dust, cold. Works in the presence of obnoxious odors; works with noxious or potentially hazardous chemicals, compounds or products. Other working conditions will be determined by position. May perform duties at a correctional facility/detention center and other high secure areas.
