How you’ll contribute to the team:


As an apprentice, you will be enrolled in and participate in Howe’s state-registered apprenticeship program, T.E.K. (Technology, Experience, and Knowledge). 
  • Assist in the installation and fabrication of sheet metal ducts, spiral ducts, roof top units, and other commercial HVAC equipment and projects according to plans.
  •  Each day and every job-site may be different, as you navigate installing auxiliary components to heating-cooling equipment such as registers, air ducts, blowers, dampers, and flues. 
  • Participate in a monthly Howe-facilitated classroom training where will learn how to read and understand blueprints, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and carry out additional assignments as directed. 
  • Learn the importance of maintaining their tools, repairing equipment, and keeping their work areas neat, clean, and free of debris.

What you’ll bring to the table:


To be successful in Howe’s T.E.K. apprenticeship, you’ll need to:
  • Be mechanically inclined and able to follow directions closely. 
  • Ability to work unsupervised and maintain a professional appearance always. 
  • Apprentices are also expected to drive to and from job sites as necessary so reliable transportation is a must.
  • Howe’s T.E.K. apprenticeship provides all the on-the-job and classroom training necessary to qualify you to become a Licensed Sheet Metal Journeyman. 
  • No prior construction experience is required, but it is helpful. 
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

What to expect and benefits:



  • Working on job sites in all weather conditions for prolonged periods of time.
  • Be able to work at height, including ladders or lifts, and in confined spaces.
  • Must have the physical strength to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50lbs, and have the balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas. 
  • Pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check are required.
  • Tools Provided: Receive up to $2,500 worth of cordless power tools in your first year.
