    Description

    Position Summary

    The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This position requires a valid Michigan Mechanical Contractor License and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer service.


    Responsibilities

    • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
    • Install, maintain, and replace heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment.
    • Perform preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC systems.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and mechanical plans.
    • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical control systems.
    • Complete service reports and work orders accurately using company software.
    • Communicate repair recommendations and equipment conditions to customers.
    • Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal codes.
    • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment.
    • Participate in rotating on-call emergency service as scheduled.
    • Follow all OSHA and company safety policies.


    Qualifications

    Required

    • Valid Michigan Mechanical Contractor License.
    • Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC service experience.
    • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
    • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
    • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Ability to lift 75 pounds and work on ladders, rooftops, and in confined spaces.

    Preferred

    • Experience with:
    • Rooftop Units (RTUs)
    • Split Systems
    • Package Units
    • Boilers
    • Chillers
    • Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF)
    • Building Automation Systems (BAS)
    • Walk-in Coolers & Freezers
    • Experience servicing restaurants and commercial facilities.
    • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
    • Experience with preventive maintenance programs.


    Work schedule

    • 8 hour shift
    • Monday to Friday
    • On call
    • Day shift
