    Job Overview:

    The HVAC Sales Representative conducts sales acquisition and account management activities in the assigned geographic and/or vertical market territory in support of Rasmussen Mechanical Services company goals. This is a dedicated sales position which will build new client relationships and maintain the relationship of our current customers.

    Responsibilities:

    Sales & Business Development

    • Perform outside sales activities across the assigned central Nebraska territory, including regular daily travel and occasional overnight stays.

    • Develop proposals — including cost effectiveness and return on investment calculations — based on site reviews, blueprints, and specifications.

    • Determine customer need and identify the most cost-effective, sellable solution.

    • Grow market penetration in the assigned territory by securing new customers and expanding services at existing accounts.

    • Lead the sale and on-time renewal of planned service agreements, incorporating all appropriate RMS offerings.

    • Sell across RMS Divisions and Departments, partnering with other RMS sales personnel to combine services into one customer experience.

    Customer Relationships

    • Conduct post-sale follow-up to confirm agreements were fulfilled and the customer is satisfied.

    • Sustain high customer satisfaction and resolve issues proactively before they escalate.

    • Develop relationships with engineers, general contractors, manufacturer representatives, and local suppliers.

    Turnover & Internal Partnership

    • Complete accurate turnover documentation, scope, pricing basis, customer expectations, and commitments made — so Project Management and Operations can execute cleanly.

    • Remain the customer's point of contact after turnover, supporting the project team on scope questions and change orders.

    • Maintain strong relationships with Operations and Field personnel. Follow up on all leads from technicians, Service Coordinators, and other RMS employees.

    Pipeline & Administration

    • Maintain accurate, current sales activity in Salesforce.

    • Maintain an accurate pipeline and provide periodic sales forecasts as requested.

    • Protect Company financial standards on sold work: profitability, payment schedules, terms, and accurate invoicing.

    Safety, Compliance & Development

    • Lead by example on safety. Verify that required safety measures are identified and included in estimates and proposals.

    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. Maintain a high level of business ethics.

    • Maintain and improve sales skills and HVAC systems knowledge through self-study, product seminars, and company-provided training. Support trade shows, lunch-and-learns, and seminars.

    • Perform other duties as assigned by the RMS Management Team.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Five (5) years of progressive experience in HVAC, Temperature Controls, Refrigeration, and/or facilities management.

    • 3+ years of documentable sales success in building systems and services.

    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and equipment submittals.

    • Working knowledge of Salesforce, estimating tools, and standard office products.

    • Professional and industry-specific certifications and licenses preferred.

    • Valid driver's license. Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

    Physical & Mental Requirements:

    • Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs., sit for long periods of time, and operate business equipment.

    • Must be able to walk customer facilities, mechanical rooms, and job sites, including stairs and ladders, to survey equipment.

    • Must be able to read / hear / write / spell / type and speak English clearly, follow written instructions, and listen effectively.

    • Must possess prioritizing / organizational / multitasking and stress management skills.
