HVAC Sales Engineer
Location: Elkhorn, Nebraska
Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt
Compensation: $90,000–$150,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus commission

Position Overview: We are an established commercial HVAC equipment solutions provider serving contractors, consulting engineers, building owners, and facility teams throughout the Midwest. Our team specializes in applied HVAC equipment, air distribution systems, boilers, and other engineered mechanical solutions.

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Sales Engineer to develop customer relationships, grow key accounts, and provide technically sound equipment solutions. This position combines consultative sales, system application, project coordination, and business development.

The right person will understand commercial HVAC systems, enjoy solving technical challenges, and be comfortable managing opportunities from initial customer consultation through equipment delivery and project completion.

Key Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
  • Develop and maintain relationships with mechanical engineers, contractors, building owners, and other industry partners
  • Identify new business opportunities within the commercial and applied HVAC market
  • Build strategic account plans and grow both new and existing customer relationships
  • Manage a pipeline of equipment and system opportunities from early design through final sale
  • Prepare competitive proposals while maintaining appropriate pricing and profitability
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and HVAC-related functions

Technical Sales and Customer Support
  • Evaluate project requirements and recommend HVAC equipment and system solutions
  • Assist customers with equipment selection, system design, specifications, and product applications
  • Translate technical information into practical recommendations that meet performance, budget, and scheduling requirements
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource throughout the sales and project lifecycle
  • Stay informed on HVAC technologies, product developments, industry standards, and market trends

Project Coordination
  • Work closely with internal engineering, estimating, operations, and support teams
  • Prepare and manage quotations, submittals, orders, and project documentation
  • Track equipment availability, order status, delivery schedules, and project milestones
  • Coordinate warranty matters, field service needs, freight claims, and other post-sale requirements
  • Maintain clear communication with customers, manufacturers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Help ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and with a high level of customer satisfaction

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field preferred
  • Mechanical Engineering degree is a plus
  • Five or more years of commercial or applied HVAC sales engineering experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, system applications, and industry manufacturers
  • Experience working with mechanical engineers, contractors, building owners, or facility professionals
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, sales tracking systems, and standard business software
  • Existing relationships within the regional HVAC market are highly valued
