Description

As the HVAC Sales Engineer, you will have a strong HVAC product portfolio with custom engineering. You will have guaranteede compensation during training / ramp up for the Richmond territory.

This is an opportunity to join a growing Air Distribution team that plays a critical role in the design and performance of commercial buildings. Rather than selling a single product, you'll have access to a broad portfolio of engineered airside products and solutions and work directly with mechanical engineers, architects, and building owners to determine the right solution for each application.The Air Distribution portfolio spans a wide range of products, including:

  • Grilles, Registers & Diffusers - architectural and performance-focused solutions for delivering and returning conditioned air while balancing comfort, acoustics, aesthetics, and airflow.
  • VAV Terminal Units - single-duct, fan-powered, and other terminal solutions used to control and condition airflow throughout commercial spaces.
  • Dampers & Louvers - airflow-control and ventilation products used across commercial HVAC applications.
  • Fans & Ventilation Equipment - commercial and industrial fans, exhaust systems, fume extraction, and specialty ventilation solutions.
  • Noise Control & Sound Attenuation - silencers, sound attenuators, and other solutions designed to create quieter, more comfortable environments.
  • Spiral & Specialty Ductwork - duct systems and components designed to improve installation, performance, and aesthetics.

Description


  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase market penetration, grow revenue, and expand the company's presence within the air distribution market.


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.


  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders, including estimators, project managers, engineers, purchasing teams, and company leadership.


  • Prepare project take-offs, estimates, and sales proposals, ensuring solutions align with customer requirements.


  • Manage the sales cycle from opportunity identification through follow-up, negotiation, and closing to achieve quota targets.


  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities and increase market share.


  • Coordinate closely with customers, sales engineers, and internal teams to support project success and customer satisfaction.


  • Deliver excellent customer service while managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.

Profile

  • Proven ability to develop and execute sales plans that drive revenue growth and increase market penetration.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders, including estimators, project managers, engineers, purchasing teams, and leadership.
  • Experience selling HVAC, mechanical airflow, air distribution, or related building material products.
  • Ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities while expanding existing customer accounts.
  • Skilled in preparing project take-offs, estimates, and proposals and presenting solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Demonstrated success managing a sales pipeline and closing business to achieve quota and performance targets.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate market trends and competitive data to uncover growth opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both internally and with customers.
  • Exceptional customer service mindset focused on long-term relationships and customer retention.
  • Strong project management and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, though HVAC field technicians or sheet metal professionals looking to transition into sales would also be strong candidates.
