Job Summary
Summary
Under general supervision and according to established procedures; installs, inspects, replaces, tests, performs repairs to HVAC/R equipment/systems and controls that maintain the supply and integrity of the heating, cooling, ventilation and refrigeration equipment/systems throughout the Hospital facilities. Performs minor Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Plumbing tasks as required, when related to HVAC/R duties.

Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Refrigeration Technician [Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Department of Public Safety and Inspections Division required Experience Experience as an HVAC Technician 2-3 years required and 5 years experience as an HVAC Technician preferred and Ability to control campus-wide systems through the EMS preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Interpersonal skills necessary in order to effectively lead a small group of personnel/contractors and to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships within the department. - Analytical skills necessary to organize and oversee the work of others, effectively evaluate efficiency of equipment and work performed by outside contractors. - Work requires level of knowledge of installation and repair of large HVAC/R equipment, knowledge of testing and repairing electrical control systems, generally acquired through post-high school technical training and hands on experience in the industry. - Work requires level of knowledge of safe and efficient equipment repair, installation and preventative maintenance generally acquired through experience in the field. - Able to work in an environment with loud noise and subject to bloodborne pathogen risk, chemicals, electricity, dust, outdoor weather conditions with extreme hot/cold, fumes/odors, electricity, hazardous waste, and working with mechanical parts. - Ability to control campus-wide systems through the EMS preferred. - Supplemental HVAC/R vocational training preferred.
