    Job Opening: HVAC-R Instructor

    Nashoba Valley Technical High School is seeking a qualified, licensed HVAC-R Instructor (part-time and full-time options available) to join our dynamic community of teachers, learners, and leaders. Nashoba Tech serves district students from Ayer, Chelmsford, Groton, Littleton, Pepperell, Shirley, Townsend, and Westford, Massachusetts.

    Position Overview & Vision The successful candidate will join our Construction Cluster staff (Carpentry, Plumbing, and Electrical) as we actively work this year to integrate HVAC-R components into our existing trade curricula, with the goal of launching a standalone HVAC-R program in the fall of 2027.

    During the 2026-2027 school year, the HVAC-R Instructor will:

    • Partner with and support existing Construction Cluster programs.
    • Assist in drafting and developing comprehensive HVAC-R curriculum aligned with state frameworks found here: https://www.doe.mass.edu/ccte/frameworks/program/hvac/default.html
    • Establish and build an active Program Advisory Committee.
    • Help plan, design, and implement the physical facility and resources for the new HVAC-R program.

    Qualifications:

    • Vocational teaching or industry training experience preferred.
    • Strong interest in working within a vocational-technical high school environment.
    • Licensed as an HVAC-R instructor by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) or eligible for a Chapter 74 license waiver.

    This is a union position with pay based on the teacher's salary schedule. Starting salary is determined by your education level and years of experience, as outlined in our collective bargaining agreement. You can view the full contract and pay scales on our website at nashobatech.net.
