For a growing commercial and residential HVAC-R business, an HVAC-R Technician plays a critical role in delivering quality service, maintaining customer satisfaction, and supporting company growth through expert installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
The HVAC-R Technician is responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This position ensures all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and manufacturer specifications. The technician serves as a front-line representative of the company, delivering exceptional customer service while helping build long-term client relationships and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC-R systems and equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment performance and lifespan.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system issues and provide effective solutions.
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, company standards, and local building codes.
Communicate findings, recommendations, and repair options clearly to customers.
Complete service documentation, work orders, and equipment reports accurately and timely.
Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a professional condition.
Support emergency service calls and respond promptly to customer needs.
Identify opportunities for system upgrades, energy-efficiency improvements, and additional services.
Collaborate with team members to meet operational goals and customer expectations.
The HVAC-R Technician contributes directly to revenue growth, customer retention, and company reputation by delivering reliable service, minimizing equipment downtime, and creating positive customer experiences that lead to repeat business and referrals.
