HVAC Mechanic
Salary: Starting salary of $65,659 (based on negotiated contract) Benefits: Full-time staff are eligible for medical, prescription, and dental. Sick, vacation, and personal days
are
included
based
upon
negotiated
contract.
Civil
Service
Position.
Application Deadline: September 15, 2026 Position Summary Reports to the Director of Facilities Management or designee and is responsible for maintaining the safe, efficient,
and
reliable
operation
of
District
HVAC
systems
and
equipment.
Troubleshoots,
inspects,
maintains,
modifies,
and
repairs
heating,
ventilation,
air
conditioning,
and
refrigeration
systems
and
performs
preventive
maintenance
as
required.
Programs
and
schedules
Building
Automation
Systems
(BAS)
and
HVAC
controls
to
support
proper
indoor
air
quality
(IAQ),
occupant
comfort,
and
energy
efficiency.
Assists
with
the
development
of
specifications
for
HVAC
repairs,
replacements,
and
new
construction.
Performs
general
building
maintenance
as
directed,
including,
but
not
limited
to,
rough
and
finish
carpentry,
plumbing,
electrical,
masonry,
and
roofing
work.
Performs
other
related
duties
as assigned. Review the Job Description. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Black Seal License. Valid NJ driver's license. Five years of experience or
advanced
training
in
heating
and
venting
systems.
Ability
to
safely
operate
light
construction
equipment/machinery.
Familiarity
with
chillers,
gas-fired
boilers,
building
automation
systems,
Siemens,
CM3
and
all
controls
including
electric,
digital,
and
pneumatic.
Ability
to
repair
commercial
kitchen
equipment,
standby
generators
and
transfer
switches.
Ability
to
repair/maintain
associated
plumbing,
electrical,
mechanical,
and
Building
Automation
Systems
(BAS)
and
controls.

Reasonable
