PGS Worldwide is seeking an HVAC Mechanic in El Segundo, California for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of commercial HVAC, refrigeration, central plant, and related facility systems.
High school diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of HVAC, chiller, cooling tower, plumbing, or mechanical-systems experience.
Current Universal EPA Section 608 certification.
Active California driver's license.
Experience maintaining and repairing commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
Experience working with chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, VAVs, boilers, heaters, air compressors, or related equipment.
Experience working within a central plant environment.
Familiarity with electrical and electronic components associated with HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, layouts, drawings, and technical specifications.
Ability to use hand and power tools for troubleshooting, inspection, testing, and repair.
Must own basic HVAC tools.
Ability to work at heights from ladders and lift more than 50 pounds.
U.S. citizenship required.
Strong commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience.
Experience with building automation systems, pneumatic controls, and direct digital controls.
Experience troubleshooting building-automation I/O.
Experience using facilities-management or work-order systems such as Maximo.
HVAC experience supporting manufacturing or production equipment.
Aerospace or defense industry experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC and refrigeration equipment throughout plant and office facilities.
Service AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, VAVs, boilers, air compressors, air dryers, coolers, and freezers.
Perform preventive, routine, and special inspections to identify maintenance requirements before equipment failures occur.
Install, service, modify, rebuild, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Monitor and maintain centralized building-automation and HVAC control systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and digital-control issues.
Maintain preventive-maintenance records, service reports, and other facilities documentation.
Support facility equipment and production-machine HVAC requirements as needed.
