JOB TITLE: HVAC IV HOUR STATUS: Nonexempt

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under general supervision maintain, repair, and install heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment throughout the district.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certifications:
High school diploma/GED
Valid Texas driver's license (Required to drive district vehicle)
Must meet CCISD driver guidelines
Certified HVAC Technician
Class A or Class B license preferred
C or R endorsement preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of service techniques for heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration. Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
Ability to diagnose and resolve problems.
Experience:
Two years' experience in HVAC and refrigeration service.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Assist with diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in various types of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, order and replace parts,
Repair, replace or calibrate controls.
Install new heating systems, air conditioning systems and refrigeration components including piping and air ducts.
Maintain freon dispensing records to meet federal requirements.
Operate equipment and tools following established safety procedures; perform preventative maintenance and repairs.
Respond to emergency calls as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental demands:
Ability to communicate and follow instructions (verbal and written) read blueprints and schematics, diagnose and resolve HVAC problems and work independently.
Physical Demands/ Environmental factors:
Frequent district wide travel, continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching. Moderate lifting or carrying. Ability to operate hand and power tools, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Work outside and inside; exposed to extreme temperatures. Work around equipment with moving parts; exposed to electrical hazards. Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
