HVAC General Manager - Commercial Mechanical Services - Base Salary to 160k/year - Chicago, IL

• Our client, an established and growing commercial mechanical services company, is seeking an HVAC General Manager to oversee service operations, field technicians, and office personnel in Chicago, IL. This position combines hands-on technical HVAC knowledge with operational management, including commercial HVAC troubleshooting, technician development, service scheduling, staffing, and coordination of mechanical service and installation projects.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily commercial HVAC and mechanical service operations, including service, maintenance, repairs, and installation activities.
• Manage field service technicians, service coordination personnel, and office staff to support daily operations and project execution.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for commercial HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, and commercial boilers.
• Supervise field service activities and assist technicians with diagnosing and resolving HVAC and mechanical equipment issues.
• Coordinate technician scheduling, service dispatch, workforce allocation, and project staffing.
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, and technical development of HVAC service technicians to support continued workforce expansion.
• Collaborate with project managers and service coordinators to support commercial mechanical projects, service requests, and installation schedules.
• Monitor service workflows, field operations, and office processes to support efficient service delivery.
• Support newer and experienced technicians with technical troubleshooting and field service procedures.
• Oversee customer service operations and coordinate resolution of commercial HVAC service issues.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of HVAC leadership experience, including management or supervision of HVAC service technicians and field operations.
• Strong technical background in commercial HVAC systems, mechanical service, equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
• Experience overseeing HVAC service operations, including technician scheduling, field supervision, and service coordination.
• Experience managing or supervising field technicians and office or service support personnel.
• Experience providing technical troubleshooting guidance for commercial HVAC equipment and mechanical systems.
• Experience with commercial boiler systems, including service, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
• Experience hiring and managing HVAC service technicians.

Compensation:

• Our client is offering a base salary in the 130k - 160k/year range. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, 401k, PTO, and additional benefits.
