A day in your work boots
- Morning dispatch: Review your schedule of residential and commercial calls, stock the truck, and plan efficient routes.
- On-site evaluation: Diagnose heating, cooling, and ventilation issues. Verify airflow, electrical, refrigerant, and control performance to pinpoint root causes.
- Hands-on repairs: Perform service and repair work, including drain cleaning and related service tasks, ensuring systems are safe and reliable.
- Customer conversations: Explain findings, offer repair options, and set clear expectations with homeowners and building contacts.
- Mentor moments: Coach apprentices on technique, safety, professionalism, and documentation.
- Documentation & wrap-up: Complete accurate service notes and recommendations before heading to the next call.
- After-hours support: Rotate through on-call assignments to help customers when urgent needs arise.
- Shop standards: Keep your vehicle and workspace clean, organized, and safe—always.
What you’ll handle
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential HVAC systems
- Perform drain cleaning and resolve related service issues
- Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation
- Mentor and support apprentices
- Accurately complete service documentation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Uphold company standards for workmanship, safety, and customer service
What you bring
- Minimum 4 years of residential and/or commercial HVAC troubleshooting experience
- Hands-on experience with drain cleaning and related service work
- Willingness to take part in on-call rotations
- Interest in mentoring and training apprentices
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage daily service calls
