Now hiring for an HVAC Estimator - Direct Hire

Location: Lancaster, PA

Pay Rate: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Schedule: Day Shift | Monday - Friday

Education Requirements

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, construction practices, and applicable building codes.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HVAC Estimator supporting commercial construction projects.
  • Proven experience preparing accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, estimating methods, and project budgeting.
  • Experience using HVAC estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Design-build project experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD, Revit, and construction management software is a plus.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and project teams.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to work in both office and construction site environments.
  • Occasional travel to project sites for walkthroughs, preconstruction meetings, and project evaluations.
  • Ability to review detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for extended periods.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.

Job Duties

  • Prepare detailed HVAC estimates for commercial construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, bid documents, and scope requirements to develop accurate project budgets.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and analyze project requirements to support competitive bid preparation.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and compare vendor and subcontractor pricing to ensure cost accuracy and completeness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and reliable project support.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients, and operations teams to align estimates with project scope, schedules, and budget goals.
  • Identify potential project risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunities during the estimating process.
  • Participate in site visits and preconstruction meetings to gather project information and ensure estimate accuracy.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with local, state, and national HVAC codes and industry standards.
