HVAC Engineer - Level 3

Location: Windsor, CO

Onsite Flexibility: Onsite

Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 5 months (with potential for extension)
  • Pay Rate: $33.00 $34.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM with rotating on-call schedule

- Week-long on-call rotation - 2 hours automatically for being on-call - 15 minutes for each call that is taken - 4 hours automatically if call results in coming on site

  • Conversion Potential: Yes potential to convert to full-time employee (FTE)

Job Summary

As an HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment for complex commercial HVAC systems by conducting proactive performance testing and ongoing scheduled maintenance. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. The candidate will be part of a team that works to help each other out where needed, even if it seems to be outside of their typical job general maintenance tasks will be asked of everyone. This is a manufacturing facility that manufactures turbine blades, and safety is paramount.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign tasks to team members; ensure all duties are done in a timely manner.
  • Install, repair, adjust, service, and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment, including calibration of related instruments, gauges, and control components.
  • Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values; work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information.
  • Perform preventative maintenance work on air handling units, boilers, and humidification systems.
  • Perform general maintenance as needed and reactive work as needed.
  • Conduct daily rounds and manage daily work orders.

Preferred Skills

  • Commercial experience with HVAC
  • Maximo experience
  • Aerial lift certification
  • Trained in fall protection
  • Forklift certified
  • Prior shift manager or supervisory experience

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or trade school diploma required; trade school preferred
  • In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered
  • EPA Universal License required
  • Driver's License required

Required Experience

  • 5 7 years of job-related experience in commercial/industrial HVAC, including air handling units and boilers

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Manufacturing facility environment; safety is paramount
  • Must meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, and climbing stairs
  • Ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
  • Rotating on-call schedule with after-hours on-site response requirements
  • Background package: CBRE Safety Specific with drug screen and MVR
