• Pay Rate: $22.00 $24.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Monday Friday, 9:00 AM 5:00 PM; overtime possible
• Travel Requirements: Must be comfortable with extensive everyday travel; candidate must live within a 2-hour radius of Lexington, KY; majority of time will be spent inside Lexington
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

As a Mobile Building Engineer, this role will support several facilities in the area that requires expertise to perform repairs and maintain several buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and ground requests. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function and is responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. The candidate will be working independently and will be issued a company van and tools for the work.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and repairs to the mechanical, industrial, plumbing, structural, life safety, and control systems for the facility to keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
• Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed to complete the repair and maintain inventory of adequate supplies and tools.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life; oversee repairs and emergency maintenance as needed.
• Review inspections of building and industrial systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure the operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.
• Oversee compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
• Operate company-issued vehicles in the execution of daily work responsibilities.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.

Required Skills

• Comfortable working on a rooftop unit.
• Commercial HVAC knowledge.
• Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing knowledge.
• Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
• Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Highly professional attitude.
• Good customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Commercial HVAC experience.
• Mobile maintenance experience.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Trade school is a plus.
• CFC (EPA) Certification Required.
• Universal EPA license required.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks.
• Certification in any of the following is a plus: Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC and Refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.

Required Experience

• 1 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience as a building engineer; minimum of four (4) years (per role qualifications).

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Must be comfortable with extensive everyday travel.
• Must live within a 2-hour radius of Lexington, KY to reliably work the schedule/shift.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Overtime expected.
• Background check including drug screen and MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) required.

Important Notes

• Interview process: 1st round phone screen; 2nd round virtual (Teams).
• This position is covering for a worker on medical leave.
• Candidate will be issued a CBRE van, tools, tablet, and iPhone for the work.
• Conversion to FTE is possible if headcount and budget are available.
