Location: Denver, CO

Onsite Flexibility: Onsite

Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 4 months
  • Pay Rate: $24.00 $26.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
  • Travel Requirements: Driving to and from multiple sites (20 25 sites) each day

Job Summary

As an HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment for complex commercial HVAC systems by conducting proactive performance testing and ongoing scheduled maintenance. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. The candidate will be working in a dialysis clinic environment and must maintain a highly professional attitude. The candidate will work independently, driving to and from multiple sites each day, and will be provided with a company vehicle. All tools and PPE will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign tasks to team members; ensure all duties are done in a timely manner.
  • Install, repair, adjust, service, and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment, including calibration of related instruments, gauges, and control components.
  • Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with company values; work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information.
  • Respond to work orders at clinics, including:

- Fixing door locks - Light fixtures - Outlets - Sink faucets - Ceiling tile replacements - HVAC repairs

Preferred Skills

  • Any advanced knowledge would be a plus
  • Any experience working in hospitals or clinic chains is a significant plus
  • Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred
  • Trade school diploma (preferred in addition to HS diploma/GED)

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school diploma is a plus
  • EPA Certification required must be able to work with refrigerant
  • Current/valid driver's license required

  • Any amount of experience will be considered

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Candidate will be working in a dialysis clinic; a highly professional attitude is required
  • Driving to and from 20 25 sites each day
  • Company vehicle provided
  • All tools and PPE will be provided
  • Must meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and the ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
  • Background package: safety-specific background check with drug screen and MVR required

Important Notes

  • Position is open to cover for someone on a leave of absence
  • Conversion to full-time employment (FTE) is possible if headcount becomes available
  • Interview process: 1st round in-person with lead engineer; 2nd round virtual with hiring manager
