Job Summary
Design Engineer (System Engineer III) supports the TDControls building automation team. This position is responsible for the design of building automation systems using company tools and operating protocols. Prepares and maintains detailed design drawings, schematics and submittal documents typically using computer-aided design software. Works closely with design originators (e.g., consulting engineers) to resolve design details or discrepancies or to prepare drawings of unusual, complex or original designs.
Essential Duties
Receives project specifications from sales team and designs building automation system and service installed jobs.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology or equivalent is preferred
Minimum certifications/license preferred of the position
LEED, CEM or CPD certification is preferred.
Minimum experience preferred of the position
6 + years engineering experience.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position

Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines. Solves complex problems. Works independently, receives minimal guidance. May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
