In This Role, You Will
Be the welcoming front-line contact for the Human Resources Department, assisting employees, applicants, departments, and the public with HR-related questions by phone, email, fax, and in person.
Help employees and departments navigate personnel rules, policies, procedures, and Memorandums of Understanding with clear, professional, and service-focused communication.
Support key employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, benefits administration, personnel transactions, employment verifications, background forms, and separations.
Process and maintain accurate employee information in the City's HR/payroll system, Tyler MUNIS, including payroll-related transactions and personnel updates.
Prepare, review, route, and track HR documents, correspondence, reports, forms, presentations, invoices, and other confidential materials.
Maintain organized and accurate personnel records, including onboarding packets, I-9 documentation, records retention, and archiving.
Compile and update data for compliance reporting and other HR-related reporting needs.
Keep the department running smoothly by coordinating mail, supplies, invoices, and general administrative support.

The Ideal Candidate Will Be
Experienced in administrative support, public contact, and preferably human resources, with the ability to perform responsible technical and clerical HR work.
Knowledgeable about modern office procedures, records management, word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and basic recordkeeping principles.
Familiar with or interested in learning principles and practices of human resources administration, including benefits, employee records, onboarding, and personnel transactions.
Able to type accurately and proficiently, maintain complete and accurate records, and independently compose correspondence and other documents.
Skilled at compiling and organizing information, tracking details, following up on assignments, and meeting critical deadlines.
A clear and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, who can build and maintain positive working relationships with employees, departments, agencies, and the public.
Dependable, discreet, and professional, with sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Comfortable using HR/payroll systems, Microsoft Office tools, databases, spreadsheets, and other software used in personnel administration.
