About the Position
Human Resources Manager is accountable for overall human resources management in an agency or is the deputy to the Human Resources Director in a large agency. Accountable for planning and implementing agency human resources programs and procedures within statewide policies related to recruitment and selection, classification, salary administration, benefits, appointments, performance evaluation, training and development, employee engagement, grievances, disciplinary investigations, and employee relations. Ensures work done is in compliance with relevant federal and state laws. Provides expert advice to those who administer human resources programs and procedures within agency policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and federal and state laws. Works on project teams both within designated program areas and other HR program areas toward the end of enhancing statewide HR programs. Supervises professional and vocational level positions. Supervises functions of professional, technical, and supporting staff in performing specific agency services. Performs a variety of administrative tasks dealing with fiscal management, strategic planning, legal compliance, and required reports related to the agency. Serves as a liaison to agency officials and personnel, other public and private agencies, and/or the general public.
What youll need to be Successful
Knowledge of State payroll systems (SPAHRS and MAGIC), skilled in Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Excel, good communication skills, and a team player with a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and, 8+ years of experience, and 1-2 years of supervisory experience. - The Hiring Agency Prefers: Experience working in MAGIC, MAGIC EC, Merlin, SPAHRS, and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience must include supervising and coordinating a variety of functions.

Paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave
Full-time employees receive paid time off for personal needs and for sick leave. Leave begins accruing after one month of employment and may be used as it is accrued. Employees earn approximately 18 days of personal leave annually and 12 days of sick leave annually.
