HR Specialist - Manufacturing
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Pay Rate: $24.00/hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (based on business needs and performance)
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an HR Specialist for a growing manufacturing organization in the Indianapolis area. This position is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys supporting employees, managing HR processes, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Previous Human Resources experience within manufacturing is required.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions related to HR, payroll, benefits, and workforce management.
Provide exceptional customer service via phone, email, and case management systems.
Process and maintain employee records in HRIS systems, including:
New hires
Terminations
Promotions
Compensation changes
Leave of absence administration
Benefits enrollments
Direct deposit and payroll updates
Support administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and wellness programs.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee information.
Assist employees and managers with HR system navigation and self-service tools.
Investigate and resolve employee inquiries while ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and support ongoing HR initiatives.
Collaborate with HR team members across multiple functional areas.
Qualifications
Required: Previous Human Resources experience within a manufacturing environment.
High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
Experience supporting HR, payroll, benefits, employee records, or workforce administration.
Experience with Workday, PeopleSoft, or other HRIS platforms preferred.
Strong customer service and employee support skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
HR shared services or HR support center experience.
Payroll and benefits administration exposure.
Spanish language skills are a plus.
