We have an exciting opportunity for a Benefits Specialist to join our corporate benefits team. This role is located in San Diego, CA
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the administration of human resources benefits programs. The Benefits Specialist is responsible for interpreting established policies, procedures, and standard practices and developing proactive plans to ensure that human resource activities achieve desired results. They respond to moderately complex inquiries from employees, managers, and external parties regarding a variety of subjects, some of which contain confidential and sensitive information, which require tact and discretion in handling.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and four or more years of progressive experience in human resources administration or a related field. May substitute a certificate in human resources from a recognized organization and/or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
Must have a general knowledge of human resource principles, theories and concepts and a general understanding of practices, techniques, and standards.
Proficiency in HR systems (examples include ServiceNow and SuccessFactors) and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
Must be customer focused and possess:
the ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity;
excellent verbal and written communications and presentations skills to accurately document and report findings to a variety of audiences;
excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees, managers and external parties;
the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; and,
excellent computer skills, especially in Excel.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
