United CoolAir, LLC (UCA) is an original manufacturer of HVAC equipment, serving customers for over 30 years. UCA is seeking an HR Site Leader to serve as the manager-level owner of the full human resources function for a manufacturing site of approximately 100 employees. This role is both strategic and hands-on, serving as the primary HR leader and business partner to site leadership while building trust, consistency, and follow-through with employees and frontline leaders.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES: The HR Site Leader is a manager-level role responsible for owning and leading the day-to-day and long-term HR agenda for United CoolAir. As the site’s primary HR leader, this role combines hands-on execution with leadership influence, business partnership, sound judgment, and proactive problem solving. The HR Site Leader is accountable for building trust with employees, coaching leaders, resolving employee relations matters in a timely and complete manner, maintaining compliance, supporting talent acquisition and retention, and connecting HR activity to broader site performance. Success in this role requires exceptional follow-through, clear communication, strong attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate how HR decisions, reporting, and actions affect employees, leaders, and the business.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serves as the manager-level HR leader for the UCA site, providing visible, trusted, and consistent HR leadership for employees, supervisors, and site leadership.
• Builds credibility with employees by listening to concerns, setting clear expectations for next steps, and following through completely and timely on commitments.
• Partners closely with site leadership to improve employee relations, engagement, retention, attendance, performance, and overall employee experience through practical and actionable plans.
• Owns timely resolution of employee relations matters, including investigations, corrective action, performance concerns, attendance issues, accommodations, and terminations, while knowing when to escalate complex or sensitive matters.
• Coaches supervisors and leaders to strengthen communication, accountability, documentation, performance management, and employee engagement practices.
• Provides leadership, prioritization, and oversight for HR-related work performed by recruiting support, shared services, corporate HR partners, or other internal/external resources supporting the site.
• Establishes and maintains disciplined HR operating routines, including follow-up tracking, employee relations documentation, recruiting updates, onboarding checkpoints, compliance reviews, and site HR metrics.
• Owns site recruiting coordination and workforce planning in partnership with internal or external recruiting support, ensuring openings, candidate flow, hiring decisions, and onboarding are managed with urgency and accuracy.
• Maintains accurate HR data, reporting, and documentation, and uses information to identify trends, ask the right questions, and connect HR activity to business impact.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, documentation standards, and HR best practices.
• Drives United CoolAir culture through the company mission, vision, core values, and FLO, translating culture priorities into visible actions at the site level.
• Maintains knowledge of HR trends, employment law updates, talent management practices, manufacturing workforce challenges, and HR technology to strengthen site HR effectiveness.
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant work experience considered. HR certification preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive HR experience preferred, with demonstrated success supporting a manufacturing, distribution, or frontline workforce environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, set HR priorities, make sound recommendations, and hold leaders and support partners accountable to agreed actions.
• Prior experience serving as a manager-level HR business partner, HR site leader, HR manager, or primary HR owner for a business unit or location strongly preferred.
• Exceptional follow-through, ownership, and personal accountability; consistently closes the loop with employees, leaders, candidates, and business partners.
• Strong judgment and critical thinking, with the ability to connect HR data, employee feedback, business needs, and leader actions into practical recommendations.
• Strong employee relations capability, including timely investigation, documentation, conflict resolution, coaching, and escalation of sensitive matters.
• Ability to influence and coach site leaders and frontline supervisors while balancing employee advocacy, business needs, compliance, and company values.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear expectations, timely updates, and concise documentation.
• Ability to independently prioritize competing needs, operate with urgency, and maintain discipline in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Demonstrated problem solving, analytical thinking, and ability to identify when information does not align with expected trends or business context.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment regulations required; familiarity with Pennsylvania employment practices preferred.
