HR & Safety Specialist

Position Overview
PRC Resources is seeking an HR & Safety Specialist for a growing company in the industrial services sector. This position combines hands-on Human Resources responsibilities with employee safety, training, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in HR operations, employee relations, recruiting, and performance management, along with experience supporting workplace safety initiatives in an industrial or field-based environment.
This individual will work closely with leadership, managers, and field personnel to support employees, strengthen internal processes, maintain compliance, and promote a positive, safety-conscious workplace culture.
We're looking for someone who is approachable, organized, proactive, and comfortable wearing multiple hats. Success in this role requires sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a willingness to support both employees and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources & Employee Relations
Manage day-to-day HR functions, including employee relations, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding.
Partner with managers on employee performance, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and employee development.
Support the implementation and administration of performance management programs and HR policies.
Maintain accurate employee records, personnel documentation, and compliance-related information.
Coordinate employee training programs, including harassment prevention, cybersecurity, and other required corporate training.
Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding workplace policies, procedures, and employee concerns.
Provide backup support for biweekly payroll processing, including certified payroll requirements when applicable.
Safety, Training & Compliance
Coordinate and administer company safety programs, policies, and employee training initiatives.
Maintain safety documentation, training records, certification tracking, and compliance schedules.
Coordinate required safety training and certifications, including OSHA, H2S, first aid/CPR, forklift, electrical safety, and other job-specific requirements.
Assist with workplace incident investigations, near-miss reporting, corrective actions, and safety audits.
Support field safety initiatives involving PPE, drug and alcohol testing, electrical safety, lockout/tagout, driving safety, and other workplace hazards.
Coordinate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ongoing employee awareness programs.
Partner with management and third-party safety professionals to maintain and improve safety procedures.
Support OSHA compliance, customer audits, and regulatory reporting requirements across multiple locations.
Track and coordinate employee safety qualifications, annual training, and recertification requirements.
Operational & Leadership Support
Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for improving employee engagement, operational processes, and workplace compliance.
Assist in developing and implementing employee training and skills development programs.
Coordinate with internal teams and outside vendors on safety, compliance, and workforce development initiatives.
Support continuous improvement efforts related to HR practices, employee development, and workplace safety.
Qualifications
2–5 years of experience in Human Resources, HR Generalist, or a combined HR/Safety role.
Experience in industrial services, construction, energy, manufacturing, or another field-based environment preferred.
Working knowledge of HR practices, employee relations, onboarding, performance management, and employment compliance.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations, workplace safety programs, or safety training coordination preferred.
Experience supporting incident investigations, safety documentation, or employee certification tracking is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with leadership and operational teams.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Safety, or a related field preferred; relevant experience will be considered.
Ability to travel approximately 4–5 weeks per year to company locations.
Must be able to work on-site in New Braunfels, TX.
