Busch Vacuum Solutions has an immediate direct hire opportunity for a Human Resources Manager at our United States headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia!

The Human Resources Manager is ahands-on, front-line role delivering the full employee lifecycle of HR support at the site, from onboarding through offboarding. This position serves as the primary point of contact for employees on day-to-day HR matters, including new hire orientation, benefits questions, leave of absence guidance, employee relations, and performance management.

The Human Resources Manager interprets and applies company policy, staying current on state and federal employment law to ensure compliant practices at the site. This role works cross-functionally as part of an integrated HR team, collaborating closely with Talent Management, Learning and Development, and HR Operations to ensure a seamless employee experience from hire to exit.

This is a full-time, fully onsite position located at our headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, with flexibility to support business needs as required.

Targeted Compensation: The targeted base salary for this position is $110,000 - $125,000 annually, depending on the selected candidates qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver a first-class new hire orientation and onboarding experience, creating a welcoming, well-organized, and memorable first day and first week for every new employee
  • Own the onboarding experience beginning on the new hires first day, partnering with Talent Management to ensure a seamless day-one handoff and completion of all required documentation
  • Serve as the new hires dedicated point of contact throughout onboarding, including conducting 30-, 60-, and 90-day check-ins
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for onboarding and initial training for select positions, as needed
  • Serve as the front-line resource for employee benefits questions, leave of absence guidance, and life event changes, partnering with HR Operations as appropriate
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers on workplace concerns, employee relations matters, and workplace investigations
  • Coach and guide managers through the performance management process, including goal setting, coaching conversations, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions
  • Partner with Learning and Development to support employee development initiatives
  • Interpret and apply company policies while ensuring compliance with state and federal employment laws
  • Partner with site leadership on succession planning, talent review, and workforce support initiatives
  • Provide day-to-day onsite HR support while maintaining a visible and approachable presence throughout the site
  • Conduct exit interviews, identify trends, and manage the offboarding process from start to finish
  • Process employee lifecycle transactions within ADP and maintain organizational data within SuccessFactors
  • Partner with HR Operations to ensure data integrity and resolve employee data discrepancies
  • Process HR-related invoices in partnership with Purchasing
  • Collaborate with Talent Management, Learning and Development, HR Operations, and other internal stakeholders to deliver a consistent employee experience
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field: Preferred
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in a Human Resources Manager or equivalent role: Required
  • Working knowledge of employee benefits, leave administration, employee relations, and performance management: Required
  • Solid understanding of state and federal employment laws: Required
  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as ADP and SuccessFactors: Required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: Required
  • Ability to work independently while handling complex issues with minimal supervision: Required

Job Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
  • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Willingness to travel domestically for training
  • Valid Drivers' License must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards
  • Employment with Busch Vacuum Solutions requires current work authorization in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent sitting with occasional standing and walking
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs
  • Occasional bending, reaching, squatting, and kneeling
  • Ability to hear audible alarms and see visual signals
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection, as required

Work Environment

Climate-controlled office environment located within our manufacturing headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with occasional exposure to the production floor. This is a fully onsite, hands-on role requiring regular interaction with employees and leaders throughout the facility. While the majority of work is performed in an office setting, the Human Resources Manager is expected to spend time in manufacturing and operational areas providing front-line HR support. Exposure to moderate noise levels, moving mechanical equipment, temperature fluctuations, fumes, and airborne particles may occur while in operational areas. Required PPE includes safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection when entering production areas.
