About the Role
As a member of the HR team, you will play a critical role as a hands-on HR practitioner embedded in the business. You''ll directly execute and manage the delivery of our people strategies. You''ll work collaboratively with business partners and HR centers of excellence to deliver solutions that propel the business forward. You''ll be a vital part of maintaining and fostering the Ariat culture through day-to-day HR work. In partnership with the rest of the HR team, you''ll own and execute HR processes and programs for your assigned client groups. You''ll contribute to the HR and broader Ariat team at both a hands-on and strategic level. HR areas of focus include employee relations, performance management, onboarding, compliance, HR data, and reporting, recruiting support, and all the ways we can continue to make Ariat a great place to work.
You'll Make a Difference By
- Managing and executing core HR programs including performance management cycles, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, and compliance activities across assigned client groups.
- Serving as the primary HR point of contact for managers and employees, managing day-to-day HR questions, issues, and requests with responsiveness and sound judgment.
- Building effective, trusting relationships with leaders and teams; partner with managers to drive consistent communication, feedback, and employee engagement Includes conducting stay interviews, new hire check-ins, and exit interviews.
- Managing employee relations matters directly - including investigations, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions - with confidentiality, empathy, and consistent application of policy.
- Supporting managers in building and executing individual development plans, coordinating learning opportunities, and tracking progress against development goals.
- Administering and executing HR processes end-to-end: performance reviews, compensation planning inputs, job description maintenance, HRIS data accuracy, and policy compliance
- Identifying and resolving people's issues at the manager and team level; escalating to HR leadership and/or Legal when appropriate; documenting outcomes and following through on action plans.
- Managing and facilitating the overall Performance Management cycle and employee engagement survey throughout the year.
- Supporting team meetings and offsites with logistics coordination and content preparation as needed - this is a supporting, not lead design, function at this level.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on internal placement process and onboarding processes for all new hires and partnering with Total Rewards on compensation deliverables.
- Maintaining accurate employee data and HR records in the HRIS; generating standard HR reports and metrics for business leaders and the HR team.
- Ensuring consistent application of HR policies; supporting audits and compliance activities; partnering with the business updating technical job competencies, job descriptions and org charts current in SAP-Human Capital Management system.
- Assisting with other responsibilities based on business needs.
About You
- 7+ years of experience in a HR Business Partner or equivalent role
- 4-year degree preferred
- Demonstrates solid judgment and experience assessing risk relative to the business, and able to balance objectivity, empathy, and heart when solving challenges and providing guidance
- Optimistic, open, and empathetic leader who develops strong relationships and connections
- Enthusiastic problem solver: approaches projects with a can-do attitude and creates the right amount of process where none exists. Fearless about rolling up your sleeves and figuring it out

- Strong working knowledge of CA and U.S. employment and labor regulations

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000 per year.
The salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data for geographic locations.
