    Position Summary:

    The Human Resources Manager leads and administers all aspects of the Company's human resources function, ensuring compliance with employment laws, supporting business objectives, and fostering a positive, high-performing workplace culture. This position oversees the development, implementation, and administration of human resources policies, programs, and practices, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, leave management, training and development, HR compliance, HRIS administration, and employee engagement.

    The Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic resource to leadership by providing guidance on employee relations, organizational development, workforce planning, performance improvement, and employment law compliance. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate employee records, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing HR metrics and reporting, and continuously improving HR processes to support operational excellence.

    Essential Functions:

    • Lead Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning by managing recruitment, onboarding, staffing, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.
    • Ensure Employment Law Compliance by administering HR policies and programs while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Manage Employee Relations & Performance by coaching leaders, conducting investigations, resolving workplace issues, administering performance management processes, and supporting corrective action.
    • Administer Compensation, Benefits & Leave Programs including benefits administration, payroll support, FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, unemployment, and other employee leave programs.
    • Oversee HR Operations & HRIS by maintaining personnel records, administering the HRIS, preparing reports and metrics, protecting confidential information, and improving HR processes.
    • Develop Employees & Organizational Culture by coordinating training, employee communications, recognition programs, engagement initiatives, and leadership development.
    • Support Safety & Risk Management by partnering with leadership to promote workplace safety, regulatory compliance, wellness initiatives, and workers' compensation administration.
    • Partner with Leadership to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that support organizational objectives, employee engagement, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

    Skills and Experience Required:

    • Individual must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required. This implies good time management, planning/organization, and decision-making skills.
    • Individual must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people, maintaining flexibility, objectivity and a capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Individual must be able to complete any reasonable request of management necessary to effectively operate the department/company.
    • Active involvement in Phenix Label Company's mission statement, core values, and non-negotiables.
    • Act in a pleasant, courteous, and respectful manner to all internal and external customers at all times.
    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development or equivalent. Masters degree preferred.
    • 5 + years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources management.
    • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred.
    • Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP) preferred.
    • General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
    • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs.
    • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
    • Effective oral and written communication.
    • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
    • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • English language required.

    Physical and Other Requirements:

    While performing the responsibilities of the Human Resources Manager's job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Requires face-to-face discussions with individuals and teams, opportunity to make decisions without supervision, mistakes are not easily correctable and have serious consequences that impact the results of co-workers, customers or the company. Requires being exact or highly accurate, meeting strict deadlines, and working with others in a group or team. Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting. Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
