Human Resources Manager and partner closely with senior leadership.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $110k - $150k Annually, Based on experience and industry background
Position Overview: Our client is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Manager to serve as the primary HR resource for an organization of fewer than 40 employees. This individual will operate as a one-person HR department, managing the full employee lifecycle while serving as a trusted partner to leadership. The ideal candidate is comfortable balancing strategic HR initiatives with day-to-day responsibilities across employee relations, compliance, benefits, payroll coordination, recruiting, and HR operations.
Responsibilities of the Human Resources Manager:- Manage the full scope of day-to-day HR operations and serve as the primary point of contact for employees and leadership.
- Oversee employee relations, performance management, coaching, and workplace matters.
- Manage recruiting, onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding.
- Administer employee benefits and coordinate payroll-related activities through ADP.
- Finalize, publish, implement, and maintain the company employee handbook and HR policies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain employee records, personnel files, HR documentation, and reporting.
- Manage leave administration, workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and related HR programs.
- Partner with leadership on compensation, organizational planning, employee development, and other people initiatives.
- Develop and improve HR policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls as the organization continues to grow.
Required Experience/Skills for the Human Resources Manager:- Experience independently managing a broad range of HR functions.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, HR compliance, benefits, payroll, recruiting, and HR policies.
- Ability to operate successfully as a standalone HR professional within a lean organization.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion and sound judgment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Human Resources Manager:- Experience using ADP.
- Experience developing, updating, and implementing employee handbooks and HR policies.
- Prior experience within the energy, infrastructure, construction, industrial, manufacturing, or related industries.
- Experience supporting a small to mid-sized organization and partnering directly with executive leadership.
Education Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
